FERRARI 250GT SWB
and
LANCIA AURELIA
(and possibly Triumph TR2 and MGA)
I am currently working on a Ferrari 250 GT
SWB sculpture.
It's a piece that I have wanted to do for a long time.
As a child,
I had a Scalextric model of one and have
always thought it to be one of the
most beautiful cars.
I've been working on it,on and off (mainly off),
since the summer, trying to
get the 'feel' of it.
I have found it a very challenging task and
I'm very grateful to DK
Engineering,
who kindly took me on a detailed 'tour'
of the car in their workshop.
It was most helpful.
The finished piece will be approximately 300mm in length
and will be cast in
solid aluminium.
The weight should be around 4kg.
I intend to have a small edition cast in solid bronze.
They will be a lot heavier!
The finished work will be on display at
the Goodwood Revival in September.

LANCIA AURELIA
Another challenging Pinin Farina design.
Very similar to the SWB.
The design looks deceptively simple, but is so intricate, subltle and so
clever.
I've worked on this piece, on and off, during the last four,
or five years and am now working on it in conjuction with the Ferrari.
I have no idea how many 100's of hours I've spent on it.
When I start work, I'm so completely absorbed by the task,
I lose track of time (and everything else).
The finished piece will be approximately 200mm long and will weigh around 2.5kg.
I intend it to be exhibited with the 250SWB at the GOODWOOD REVIVAL.

TRIUMPH TR2
I'm hoping to find time to finish the TR2 record breaker,
driven by Ken Richardson on the Jabbeke Highway in 1953.
I think it will make a beautiful sculpture and will fit well with
with my Jabbeke Jaguar and the Austin Healey sculptures.
MGA
As with the TR2, I hope to finish off my sculpture
of the EX182 (1955 Le Mans car)
and have both pieces ready for the
MG and TRIUMPH 100 at SILVERSTONE in June.
