'KURZHECK'

PORSCHE 917K

Length: 176mm  Weight: 1Kg

(specifications are approximate as each piece is hand worked)

Cast in solid aluminium.   Finished in Nickel, or Sterling Silver

The sculpture is created in clay.
From the clay original, a pattern is taken to make the sand moulds into which moulten metal will be poured.
The pieces are individually hand-moulded, then cast in solid aluminium by traditional craftsmen in England.

Robin fettles and finishes each piece by hand before initial copper plating, then re-works it before the final finish is applied, making each a unique work of art.
As light plays on the highly relective surface planes, subtle detail is revealed, evoking a sense of speed and dynamism.

The work is signed and numbered by the artist, Robin Bark and presented in a bespoke wooden box with a certificate of authenticity.

Silver Richard Attwood edition

- A brief introduction -

"My aim is not to create a static model. My pieces must 'move'.
As a speeding car sweeps past, fleeting glimpses are morphed with
emotion, noise and power. I endeavour to express something of this in my work."

Robin's work falls into two destinct styles interupted by a career in education.
Earlier works tend towards a heroic, illustrative style.

His later minimalist approach seeks to capture the essence of the subject in it's purest form.

"In anything at all
Perfection is finally achieved
Not when there is nothing left to add
But when there is nothing more to take away."

-Antoine de St Exupery
